Info over Caribbean Amber

The world market is well familiar with the baltic, dominician and mexican amber.however, the globe is huge and the world of amber is much
bigger than a casual jewelry lover or fossil enthusiast can imagine.Amber world does not run out with the above mentioned most popular and
geographically sorted kind of amber.amber is found in different places on different countries.Green Caribbean amber is quite a new fossil
introduced to the world market.Everything has both supporters and opponents.Discussions usually get very hot when a new object or thing
is introduced to the public. Then many of us are confused by either one or even both opposing sides that have their own commercial and /or
other interests.people with high scientific degrees are used or employed to "proof" the "truth" that meets somebody`s interests.

The caribbean amber is as old as up to 5 million years, however, younger than baltic amber. It is always clear or almost clear of light greenish to dark
green color while the baltic amber usually is of light to dark brown color.however, may be also cloudy of opaque color. The differences bring variety and
extend the scale of natural beauty of amber. The caribbean amber is gem quality and currently found in Brazil,Colombia,Ecuador,Guatemala and Venezuela.
There are deposits of both "young" and substantially older amber found in the huge territory.Nevertheless ,it is found in a very limited quantities and the
mining is extremely dangerous. The latter two factors are the most important tipping the scale at the limited quantity of fine green caribbean amber
jewelry in the world market.

It is usually mined through bell pitting which is nothing but a foxhole dug snaking here there and everywhere into moutain sides consisted of a
combination of rotten and fragile soft rocks and argillaceous soil. The miners have to crawl around on their knees using candles as the only
source of light.Humidity inside the mines is at 100% with cool and bearable temperatures, nevertheless, the air soon becomes stale. The mines
have to close when it rains as the holes fill up with water immediately.

All amber is a fossilized tree resin. Some amber cobs contain inclusions:various bugs, detritus of ancient flora, air bubbles and other ancient relics.
Some million years ago such creatures like lizards, scorpoins and other also have stuck to a sticky tree resin and were imprisoned into transparent
gum that turned to amber.amber lumps with such a rarely found inclusions inspires scientists, writers and the hollywood among others.Indeed,
amber is the past frozen in time.Yes,what past?Millions and millions of years! It is very hard even to conceive such a distance in time.

Scientifically, all amber has such a differences as chemical composition and physical properties. There are many intricate factors involving that.
As it was mentioned above all amber is fossilized resin of different sorts of both conifer and deciduous trees.Age is one of the important factors
of the whole contect;however,it is not only one factor that involves amber properties. Moreover, one single factor abstracted out of the whole
intricate context gives a perverted view.Even baltic amber differs from baltic amber found in the same region in many aspects including age.

Younger fossilized resins usually are softer as their"drying" period to harden is shorter. Some companies have developed technologies of how
to harden "young" amber using no chemicals but just placing them into autoclave at a special schedule. Then both of baltic and the green
caribbean amber are tooled and processed alike by using the same tools and machinery. They are indentical from jewelry processing point
of view.Whatever is said by different producers.the truth is that the baltic amber is also hardened in autoclaves, but at a different schedule.
There is neither critical nor fake.but just emphasis on properties accepted in jewelry. It is like tempering of steel for special use.

The baltic and the caribbean amber both have own beauty and charm. That is why they are employed into jewelry along with other gems.
precious and semi-precious stones, metals, etc.to bring smile on your face.
Enjou mesmerizing beauty of the natural amber.
