Oligoclase or, as we prefer to call it, Sunstone, is a common feldspar. It is mainly found in Tweedestrand, which is in Norway.

The name of the mineral Oligoclase is derived from the Greek words 'oligos' and 'klasein' meaning 'little splitting'.

Sunstone beads less known than Labradorite

Sunstone is less well known than Labradorite or Moonstone but is just as colorful and usually has an orange to orange-red shimmering color. The sometimes striking inclusions of red, orange and green flat crystals in the colorless specimens give it a glittery effect and you might think that the stone is artificially produced.
